Sammy Dent is a composer, musician and arranger from Boston. His work has been featured in a wide range of projects including live-action and animation shorts, collaborations with choreographers, pieces ranging from solo piano to full orchestra compositions, and even performance art. From the big, classic Hollywood sound, to the more intimate or experimental orchestral styles, to jazz, contemporary rock, groove-driven music, ethnic world styles, or to electronic-based works, his music has covered a wide range of genres.
Although he received his Bachelor of Music degree in Composition, Sammy is also an accomplished musician. He plays and records drums with bands that tour the U.S. and has played percussion and timpani in ensembles and classical orchestras, both nationally and internationally.
Sammy especially enjoys collaborating as composer with other creative artists on film, TV, commercial, and theatrical projects. Whether writing a concert piece for string quartet, accompaniment for modern dance, or scoring an independent film, Sammy builds strong collaborative relationships that contribute to exceptional work.
